What about BrainOp?
Brain-op intends to be a co-op of brains, implying a system that allows for
the free trade of knowledge, structured so as to benefit all its members.
Instead of granting unlimited access to make inquiries,
as many forum sites do, Brain-op is designed to favor those who answer
questions as well as ask them, in order to promote a more vital exchange.
Everybody knows something. As a general inquiry site, Brain-op hopes to bring together all fields of interest, so that members can share knowledge and expertise they have while seeking other information they lack. This is based on the simple assumption that fairness works--the age-old principle of give and take. Openness and accessibility are critical to such forums. This site requires a free login in order to post and reply to inquiries, but all its content is open to the public, so that problems and their solutions can be indexed and distributed throughout the Internet community to maximum effect. Additionally, this interface will be enhanced to allow for a democratic government of its content by Brain-op users themselves. For instance, if users think a particular posting is off topic, unclear, incendiary or otherwise unuseful, they can easily vote against it. When enough negative votes have amassed, the posting is automatically filtered out. In this way, we can work toward a high signal-to-noise ratio, as it were, without the need for a team of moderators. Unruly participants can spoil most any forum. Brain-op aims to overcome that problem through intelligent structure and interfacing, empowering users directly to improve the quality of information that matters to them. You are free to offer any suggestions, or set up your own login and jump in! |
